• JPMorgan, “College Planning Essentials.” Editor’s Take: Thank you J.P. Morgan Asset Management for creating and sharing this comprehensive guide to saving and investing for education. Click the link to learn more about why college matters, college costs, financial aid, saving and investing.
• 529 Insiders, “State by State Overview of Potential 529 Plan State Tax Benefits on Contributions.” Editor’s Take: This status board was updated to reflect the new state income tax deduction for 529 contributions for New Jersey residents. Two sources were included for this update.
• 529 Insiders, “4Q 2021 529 and ABLE Market Sizing Highlights.” Editor’s Take: The average account size of 529 savings plan accounts was $25,395 as of December 31, 2021. What was the 529 and ABLE market sizing as of December 31, 2021? Click the link to learn more.
• ABLE Age Adjustment Act Status Board: The bill would increase the age of onset for eligibility to open an ABLE account from 26 years old to 46 years old. As of February 4, 2022, the bill sponsorship was as follows:
  • Senate (S331): 1 sponsor and 12 cosponsors
  • Congress Sponsorship (HR1219): 1 sponsor and 75 cosponsors
