  • Maryland ABLE, “Webinar – Understanding the economic stimulus payments and how an ABLE account can help.” Editor’s Take: On July 16, 2020 at 10am EST, Maryland ABLE and the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council will host an educational webinar on COVID-19 stimulus payments and how they can be used to help families fund an ABLE accounts for future emergencies.   • Texas ABLE, “Frequently asked questions about COVID-19 stimulus payments and ABLE accounts.” Editor’s Take: Congrats to Texas for creating a FAQ for account holders on this timely topic, and click the article to learn more.
  • U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Economic News Release.” Editor’s Take: The employment participation rate for persons with a disability increased from 20.9% in June 2019 to 21.0% in June 2020, while the percentage of persons with no disability decreased from 69.1% to 67.1%. While the ABLE to Work Act is currently set to expire in 2025, data such as this suggests the positive impact the bill has had to date on the quality of life of those with an ABLE account.
